Hafa Adai!* My name is Pearl Taisacan and I am super excited to be teaching second grade for the sixth year in a row. I have been with the district since 2006, first as a Substitute Teacher. I have taught every grade from EAK through 5th ever since then. I also have experience as an Intervention & Support Teacher and had the privilege of working as the EL Facilitator a few years ago.  Anza is like a second home for me and I love working in our community.

I moved to San Diego to pursue teaching from a tiny island in the Pacific Ocean, called Rota. I graduated with a Master's Degree in Education back in 2008, from San Diego State University, where I also got my Bachelor's Degree and Multiple Subject Credential. Go SDSU Aztecs!!

I have a wonderful and supportive family, and I am proud to be the mother of a former All-Star. My son, Prysten, is definitely my life's greatest blessing. As a family, we enjoy playing sports and look forward to game nights and making memories. Spending quality time with my loved ones is a MUST!

My passion for teaching motivates me every day, and I look forward to all the wonderful learning we will be doing together this year.
