I am pleased to take this opportunity to meet and welcome your child to our class. A successful learning experience is built on a cooperative effort between parent, child, and teacher. My expectations for conduct and standards for academic growth are high. With your participation, we can look forward to a productive, creative, and fun year together!
I believe that children deserve respect and should never be humiliated. I believe a child’s self-esteem should be nurtured tenderly. I have high expectations for all of our students academically, as well as behaviorally. All students are expected to treat each other as they would like to be treated, work cooperatively, and be neat and organized. I place a great deal of emphasis on students choosing their attitude and actions. What this means is students need to be aware of their behavior and choose to handle challenges in an appropriate way. In order for our classroom to operate smoothly, certain things must occur. Our classroom rules have been developed to facilitate learning. They are: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. I want your child to enjoy the learning process and I want to help them develop their own motivation for learning. I hope to do my best to encourage your child to succeed in his/her attempts to learn. I believe modeling is the most powerful way to affect a child’s learning. Please model the love of learning at home by reading with your child.
