It’s going to be great to be in room 8 at Fuerte!  I am looking forward to teaching 2nd grade with my teacher partner Melissa Powell this school year.  This is my 1st official year as a credentialed teacher in the classroom but it is my 2nd year at Fuerte.  I was the reading intervention teacher for grades 1-5 last school year and I student taught in 2nd and 3rd grades during my credential program.  I’ve worked as a substitute teacher in grades K-8 for Cajon Valley Schools and I also taught martial arts for 12 years.

I was born and raised in San Diego but my family immigrated here from Vietnam as refugees in 1980.  I speak Cantonese and English was actually my 2nd language.  I have a BS in Health Science and I am currently in the Masters program for Elementary Education at San Diego State University.  I have 2 kids who are in 2nd and 4th grade this year.  I am so lucky, proud, and honored to be teaching here at Fuerte. I am looking forward to learning, growing and getting to know everyone!
