Carrie Kraft
Hello! My name is Carrie Kraft and this is my second year teaching at Naranca. I grew up in El Cajon and attended schools in the Cajon Valley Union School District. I moved to Northern California and attended California State University, Chico. In 2009, I graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies and a minor in Child Development. I enrolled in the credential program the following year and received my multiple subject teaching credential in 2010. After college, I moved back to San Diego and began working as a substitute teacher for Cajon Valley and Lakeside Union school districts. I taught transitional kindergarten for two years in Lakeside. In 2018, I was hired as a transitional kindergarten teacher at Naranca Elementary. This year I am teaching a combination class that includes students in Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching young children. I believe that primary education should provide students with opportunities to learn through play, movement, and music and that is what I enjoy doing in my classroom. I also strongly believe in creating a classroom community and building relationships with students and their families.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy spending our time outdoors. Some of our favorite things to do are camping, going to the beach, and going swimming.
